Cincinnati may sell land for Deupree Cottages in Oakley

Cincinnati City Council is considering the sale of City-owned property to accommodate an access drive for a new senior complex in Oakley.

Episcopal Retirement Homes, which operates the adjacent Deupree House, has petitioned the City to purchase 0.2 acres at 3983 Erie Avenue for $30,000, its appraised fair market value.

The land would provide and entrance for the $7 million Deupree Cottages project, two single-story, 12-bed buildings that council approved in November 2007.

The complex was approved by council in November 2007 and is scheduled to open in spring 2009.

Under the sale agreement, the City would retain easements to maintain a bridge wall and stormwater outfall on the property.
