Wrecking Cincinnati: 3031 McHenry Ave

USE: Single-family dwelling
OWNER: Ronald A. Brown
HAZARD: October 2007. Brown, one of the City's worst code violators who was once given 170 days in jail in housing court (!), asked for a Section 106 review of his property. No historical significance was found. Years later, in May 2012, Brown met with the demolition contractor and Cincinnati police at the house. He begged for extra time to remove his many belongings. They advised him to contact an attorney, then razed the house with his hoard still in it.
CONDEMNED: June 2007, for a leaking roof, water damage, holes in the ceilings, electrical fixtures hanging from exposed wires, electricity being supplied via extension cords from his house next door, and excessive hoarding. Criminal status.
ORDERS: Dating back to 2003 for junk cars, litter and debris.
REASON RAZED: Declared a public nuisance and entered into the City's hazard abatement program.
