Wrecking Cincinnati: 4219 Eastern Ave

USE: Three-family dwelling
OWNER: Frederick H. White and Melody L. Huston
ASSESSED VALUE: $9,630
HAZARD: December 2010. In October 2011, the City was informed that White was in prison. There was no contact from Huston.
CONDEMNED: October 2009, due to a structure fire causing $20,000 in damage. Condemnation orders were presented to the current owners in January 2010.
ORDERS: August 2009, the vacant house was ordered barricaded and vacated. The structure was found to have a defective roof, gutters and downspouts, broken walks and inadequate handrails and guardrails. Windows were missing, and the house was being used by homeless squatters.
REASON RAZED: Declared a public nuisance and entered into the City's hazard abatement program.
