Cincinnati, Duke Energy removing graffiti and trash in Oakley

In observance of Earth Day, the City of Cincinnati Department of Public Services is partnering with Duke Energy to remove the graffiti and trash that lines the walls of Duck Creek near the Rosslyn Ramp (BIRD'S EYE) in Oakley.

The graffiti is visible to residents of the nearby Deupree House and is largely considered a quality of life nuisance.

Volunteers plan to paint artistic lines on the walls to help deter vandals from defacing the area again.

Over 30 Duke Energy volunteers will be on site, and the City is providing paint, materials, and staff to assist in the project.

Work begins Friday at 10 AM.

The project is part of Duke Energy's annual Global Service Event, a companywide volunteerism effort that runs from April 1 to June 1 of this year.

In 2007, Duke Energy volunteers participated in more than 500 projects within the company's five-state service area.
