The College Hill eNewsletter reports that the neighborhood landmark Visconti & Lechler Pharmacy has closed after 42 years in business.
The store's inventory has been sold to Walgreens, and partners Joe Lechler and Ralph Visconti Jr are seeking renters for the property at 6106 Hamilton Avenue.
Lechler, his daughter, and several of the employees will work at the Walgreens store in North College Hill.
The closing is a major blow to the neighborhood business district and to independent businesses everywhere.
