OTR Part III: The Q Blogger Tour

I'm a little bit late in posting these, but here are my shots from the Q Blogger Tour on February 9.

A little over a dozen of us got an inside look at some of the projects from the Gateway Quarter's first two phases, including the Gateway Condos, Duncanson Lofts, Duveneck Flats and Centennial Row.

We also got to visit the construction site of Tridecka, a building at 13th and Vine being rehabbed by Urban Sites Properties.

The final few shots were taken through the window of a Downtown high-rise. I'll leave it to you to guess which one.

I would like to personally thank Holly and Michael Redmond, Jim Moll, and the rest of the people working at the Gateway Quarter information center for the brilliant idea for a tour, for accommodating us and our cameras, and for buying us lunch.

Thanks also go out to developers from Al Neyer, Inc., B2B Equities/NorthPointe Group, the Model Group, Over-the-Rhine Community Housing and Urban Sites Properties for taking time out of their day to show us around.

Model releases Trinity Flats elevations

As promised last weekend during the Q Blogger Tour, Robert Maly of The Model Group has supplied Building Cincinnati with renderings and elevations of his newest project, Trinity Flats.

The $8.9 million Trinity Flats, which is part of the Gateway Quarter's third phase, will consist of 38 residential units and 7,500 square feet of commercial space at 1326-1342 and 1331-1335 Vine Street and 1332 Republic Street.

The development will be a blend of rehablitation and new construction.

The project kicked off with a City ceremony on February 8 celebrating the demolition of the crime-plagued carryout at 1335 Vine Street, the future site of a new 11-unit building with garage parking.

Gateway Quarter Phase III will bring 107 new residential units and more than 15,000 square feet of commercial space to Vine, Main, Pleasant and Republic streets.

In addition to Trinity Flats (see Urban Sites Properties is investing $11 million to add 43 condo units and over 6,000 square feet of commercial space at 1202, 1306, and 1417-1421 Main Street and at 1232 and 1237 Vine Street.

* Over-the-Rhine Community Housing is spending $6.8 million to build the City Home project along the 1400 block of Pleasant Street, which will include 22 residential units and 1,600 square feet of commercial space.

* B2B Equities/NorthPointe Group is spending $2.7 million to develop 8 condo units at 1222-1224 Republic Street.

Over the past two-and-a-half years, 3CDC and the City of Cincinnati have invested more than $70 million in Over-the-Rhine, with about $58 million coming from private sources.

On Saturday, Holly and Michael Redmond, Jim Moll, and others with the Gateway Quarter led a group of a dozen local bloggers on a tour of completed projects and one under construction.

Developers of the projects* were on hand to answer questions about the Gateway Condos, Duncanson Lofts, Duveneck Flats and Centennial Row, as well as the Urban Sites Properties project under construction and 13th and Vine streets.

I would like to personally thank all of the folks at the Q and the developers for taking time out of their Saturday to lead us all around their section of Over-the-Rhine.

I would also like to thank all of the local bloggers who came out and made the event possible, and I hope you got something out of the experience.
