"Limits of Construction" is a common term used within the architectural and engineering professions to define the boundaries of a work area or site. Seeley's paintings explore the unusual possibilities of surfaces, markings, shadows, and materials that can exist within those limits.
These materials all combine in fleeting combinations – then are gone.
Seeley was born in Indiana and spent much of his youth on the West Coast before settling back in Cincinnati. He holds a degree in architecture from Miami University and is self-taught in art, until recently becoming a Master of Fine Arts Candidate at the same school.
His most recent show was held in August 2012 at the Oxford Community Arts Center.
