September CPA tour to highlight West McMicken progress

Tickets are now on sale for the Cincinnati Preservation Association's (CPA) "Neighborhood in Progress Tour", to be held September 22 at 10 A.M. along historic West McMicken Avenue in Fairview.

The centerpiece of the tour is the Riestenberg House, located at 2343 W McMicken Avenue, an 1885 Queen Anne brick townhouse being lovingly restored to show off its original woodwork, mantels, and kitchen.

The walking tour also highlights the work of the West McMicken Improvement Association to renovate abandoned buildings, reduce crime, green the neighborhood, and save contributing structures from being lost to a highway interchange.

The tour is the first program of CPA's "Fall into Restoration" series, which also includes programs on lead paint safety on October 20 and old house maintenance on November 2010.

Admission for the tour $10 for guests and $5 for CPA members. To register, call (513) 721-4506 or e-mail info@cincinnatipreservation.org.
