Cause of death: Holes in the ceilings and walls, a collapsing chimney, and extreme overall decay to its wooden structure. The water and heat had been shut off. The lock had been broken off of the front door, and people were able to get in and do drugs inside.
Orders on the property dated back to 2002. The owner alerted the City that she didn't have the money to complete the required repairs. People Working Cooperatively and neighborhood groups were unable to work out arrangements with her for assistance on the property.
The house was finally condemned in April 2007 as a result of the Neighborhood Enhancement Program. It was declared a public nuisance in January 2008 and razed by the City.
