Covington issues RFQ for scattered-site rehabs

The City of Covington has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for qualified developers to rehabilitate scattered-site single-family dwellings.

The project's first cycle is scheduled to begin next spring and be completed in late 2010, with the second cycle starting spring 2011 and concluding in late 2012.

The work will be funded through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program as outlined in the Housing and Economic Recovery Act.

Respondents will be required to show the ability to manage the reconstruction of 6 to 10 dwellings simultaneously.

Structures deemed historic by the city's historic preservation officer will require rehabilitation to Secretary of the Interior standards.

Design for energy efficient retrofits will be included in all work plans.

The city clerk will receive responses through December 15 at noon.
