Time: A new blueprint for Levittown

How do you "green" a massive suburban development that's the very antithesis of sustainability?

County officials, environmentalists and local businesses have launched Green Levittown, an attempt to lower the postwar suburb's carbon footprint by 20 percent.

Time reports that the optional program will allow homeowners to receive reduced-interest loans to finance upgrades.
