Cause of death: A deteriorated foundation, faulty wiring, busted windows and failing gutters and downspouts - general blight. The building has had problems for many years, and the City finally forced the tenants out in 2005. The absentee owners live in Middletown, and the City had to barricade the vacant property on several occasions. It was condemned in April and declared a public nuisance in May. Demolition took a month due to asbestos removal.
