SORTA will be holding a public open house today regarding the proposed re-routing of Metro's 41 crosstown bus.
At the meeting, which will be held at the Clovernook Center in North College Hill, information will be presented about a plan to change the western terminus of the route to the Hilltop Plaza, on Hamilton Avenue in Springfield Township.
Weekday service would also change from every 30-40 minutes to every 40-45 minutes.
The 41 bus, which is known as the Northgate-Oakley Crosstown, currently runs from near Oakley Square to Dry Ridge Road, just north of I-275.
According to SORTA, this route has consistently been among the bottom three of its 36 local routes in ridership.
Colerain Township administration has complained to SORTA about loitering at Northgate Mall and excessive trash along and near the route, and have argued that the bus service is not needed.
The township would continue to be served by the 18 Northgate-Mount Airy, the 19 Colerain and the 74X Northgate Express buses.
If approved, the route change would take effect December 2.
1 PM-5 PM. Clovernook Center. 7000 Hamilton Avenue, North College Hill.
