The Ohio History Central entry about Over-the-Rhine certainly glosses over a large portion of the neighborhood's history.
The focus of the short article seems to be anti-German sentiment. And apparently little happened in the neighborhood after 1900 except for more hate. And then the poor moved in.
The article ends with this gem:
"The city's attempts to revitalize the area have had only limited success, although there has been a renewed interest in preservation of historic buildings in recent years."
