Hannaford units on the market again

The remaining 15 condos of the Hannaford in Newport have been re-listed.

Towne & County Realty House has put the units at 803 E 6th Street on the market for $140,000 to $305,000.

Chicago developer and restauranteur Larry Levy of the Levy Organization had listed them through Huff Realty in 2005 with varying degrees of success, eventually moving 15 of the 40 units.

A public auction last August produced disappointing results.

Prices on the units have been reduced this time around in an effort to move them quickly and to allow the developers to move on to other projects.

A model is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 PM to 4 PM.

The Hannaford building, designed by Samuel Hannaford and built in 1889, was originally the home of Our Lady of Providence High School and was most recently used as apartments and an extended-stay hotel.
