OWNER: David G. Hamilton
ASSESSED VALUE: $10,620
ORDERS: December 2006, for garage, gutters and downspouts, exterior paint, porch guardrails, rotten porch, and masonry walls. Owner was advised to contact People Working Cooperatively or to put the house up for sale. By April 2008, Hamilton had contacted a contractor. Orders were reissued in August 2009. A criminal case was filed in June 2010. By October 2010, Hamilton was in a nursing home and his brother was given power of attorney.
CONDEMNED: November 2011, adding water damage, a collapsed concrete front porch, structural failure of the garage, lack of utilities, and litter. In July 2011, City inspectors learned that Hamilton had passed away.
HAZARD: September 2011.
REASON RAZED: Declared a public nuisance and entered into the City's hazard abatement program.
