CONDEMNED: July 2008, issued to a new owner for attempting to convert the building to a two-family. The building had no water service since June 2006. Winds from the remnants of Hurricane Ike tore off the roof that September. A criminal case was filed in November 2009, resulting in a plea of no contest, two years of probation, a 180-day suspended jail sentence, and a fine of $100 and court costs. In May 2011, James' probation was extended an additional year.
ORDERS: May 2006, ordered vacated and barricaded following a fire that caused an estimated property loss of $50,000, displaced 18 people, and resulted in a nail puncture wound to a firefighter. Prospective buyers appeared in January 2007, promising to have the property rehabbed in two months. By August 2007, much of the work had been performed without the proper permits and in an unsatisfactory manner.
