North Rhine Heights open for business in OTR

The $14 million first phase of the Model Group's North Rhine Heights affordable apartment rehabilitation project opened Tuesday morning in Over-the-Rhine.

The 65 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units are located among 14 buildings, largely clustered along E McMicken Avenue. Other properties are located on Findlay, Main, Peete, and Vine streets.

Rents will range from between $575 and $815 per month.

The properties at 41-43 E McMicken Avenue, 143-145 E McMicken Avenue, and 1636 Main Street are registered with the U.S. Green Building Council as LEED for Homes Multi-Family 1.0.

According to Model Group CEO Steve Smith, there's already a waiting list to move in. Residents will begin moving into the completed units by July 1, and additional phases are scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
