Ground broken at Northside Citirama site

Ground was broken last Thursday for the 36-lot second phase of Rockford Woods in Northside, the site of this year's Citirama home show.

To be held June 3-13, 2010, the ninth edition of Citirama will feature seven single-family homes by Greystone Homes, John Hueber Homes, Maple Street Homes, Maronda Homes, M/I Homes, Perry Bush Building Group, and Potterhill Homes.

Prices will start at $190,000.

A partnership between the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati and the City of Cincinnati, past Citirama events have been held at Betts-Longworth and St. Ann's Common I and II in the West End, Brodbeck Park and Woodcrest Park in Westwood, Spencer Hill in Mount Lookout, and the Villages of Daybreak in Bond Hill.

Notable

On Friday, Potterhill Homes and NRG Solutions installed a geothermal heating and cooling system on the Potterhill Homes building lot, site of the first house to be sold in the new development.

The Earth-friendly HVAC system will allow the future homeowners to save 50%-70% on their energy costs and to receive a 30% federal tax credit.

Artists may go free

Citirama is seeking a local artist to design the official poster for this year's home show.

Each artist may submit up to three designs, and the winning artist will receive $500 and four tickets to the event.

Designs must be submitted by April 18 at 11:59 P.M., and complete rules and regulations are available here.
