Cause of death: A defective roof, rotten porch floor, a collapsed rear cellar wall, deteriorating eaves and gutters, and broken and missing windows that led to water damage. Code violations dated back to 2004, and litter and weeds violations dated back to 2003.

The house was condemned in September 2007. The owners, Woeste Brothers Properties, didn't show up for pre-prosecution hearings. A court case was filed.

In April 2008, the case was dismissed for want of prosecution. The structure was declared a public nuisance in June. The house appears to have been foreclosed by Fifth Third Bank, which inquired about getting an injunction to stay demolition but never followed through.

The house was razed by the City following asbestos abatement.
