Seven NBDSF requests submitted

Seven Neighborhood Business District Support Fund (NBDSF) requests have been submitted to Cincinnati City Council by City Manager Milton Dohoney Jr.

The requests are for:

  • Pleasant Ridge Community Council: $9,000 for neighborhood beautification, stage rental and installation for the District A Street Festival, and phone service
  • University Village Association: $9,000 for additional street lighting along Short Vine and additional off-duty officer patrols during events at Nippert Stadium
  • Merchants of Main Street: $9,000 for advertising through the Pulse, CityBeat, and WNKU, an economic development consultant from the Aria Group, patrols by off-duty police officers, and brochures
  • Central Vine Street Business Association: $9,000 for marketing through newspaper, radio and LED, flower boxes, an insurance policy for the parking lot at 1521-1525 Vine Street, Cincinnati Neighborhood Business Districts United (CNBDU) dues, and a $100 show of support for the preservation of Meiner Flats
  • College Hill Business Association: $9,000 for off-duty police officers, project management for façades and signage, streetscape maintenance, holiday decorations, CHBA envelopes and postage, and CNBDU dues
  • Mount Washington: $9,000 for decorative planters, large event banners, decorations for the Holiday Walk, race coordination for the 5K Run, graphic design for the farmers market logo and materials, placement and planting of holiday decorations and evergreens,
  • DeSales Corner: $8,978 for landscaping and snow removal, property taxes for public lots, banners, pots, plants, and Christmas wreaths
The NBDSF, which is budgeted through the City's Department of Community Development, provides up to $10,000 for general improvement projects to each of 34 recognized neighborhood business districts.

The program is administered through Invest in Neighborhoods, Inc. and submissions are collected on a quarterly basis.
