Cause of death: Known as the "Florence", this apartment building was razed to make way for the $24 million Corryville Crossings, a JFP Group development that is supposed to include a 138-room Hampton Inn and Suites hotel. IHOP and Starbucks backed out of plans to join the development over the summer, but a possible new retail tenant has been identified - though not named. Struggles continue over financing and tenant recruitment.
