Wrecking Cincinnati, 10/14/08

1567 Tremont Avenue, South Fairmount
Single-family
DOB: 1885
Died: September 2008
Cause of death: Broken windows, missing siding, holes in the exterior walls, a deteriorated roof, and a collapsed chimney. There was no electric, gas, or water service. The property also had cracked sidewalks, overgrown weeds, and other advanced deterioration.

The long-vacant building was condemned in November 2004, and declared a public nuisance in October 2006. It was entered into emergency abatement status following the collapse of a rear wall and interior framing in August 2008, causing the roof and all floors to fall into the basement.

The building was razed by the City following asbestos removal. It had been vacant since at least 2002, and was likely abandoned.
