Cause of death: Severe foundation damage, deteriorated porch, gutters and downspout, and missing windows and siding. A "hazardous" tree on the site was cited as a major problem, following the demolition of the adjacent blighted structure in 2007. Problems on the vacant building date back to 2003, when it was noted by inspectors that the house was open, the front door had been ripped from its hinges, the plaster ceilings had fallen, and the entire site was overrun with weeds and litter. With new ownership, the house was re-condemned in July 2007. The City could not contact the owner and he didn't show up for any pre-prosecution hearings, meaning that the house was likely abandoned. It was declared a public nuisance in March 2008 and razed by the City.
