East Price Hill Kroger photo update, 8/2/08

The new Kroger grocery store in East Price Hill is under roof and has a nearly completed shell.

Cole + Russell Architects designed the new 64,000-square-foot store, which replaces a smaller, outdated store that stood on the site on Warsaw Avenue between Enright and McPherson avenues.

The new store will include a drive-thru pharmacy, a photo lab and a Nature's Market organic food section.

To accommodate the neighborhood's many pedestrians, the exterior site plan was designed with a new streetscape, new crosswalks, improved lighting, a new bus stop and a taxi stand.

Construction is scheduled for completion in November.

If you look closely, you can see that the tile mosaic from the old store has been saved and will have a prominent place on the front of the building.

On the east side of the building, forms are in place for concrete that will make up the truck docks.

And if you walk along Warsaw Avenue, you can see many remnants of the buildings that used to be there, including foundations and a threshold I happened to capture.
