3100 McHenry Ave, Westwood
Multi-family
DOB: 1962
Died: May 2008
Cause of death: Dilapidated and a major drug hotspot. Much of the interior finishes had been damaged or removed, and it was filled with rats, roaches and garbage. Concrete balconies had been removed, threatening the integrity of the structure. It was condemned in November 2006 and was declared a public nuisance in April 2007. The Westwood Civic Association and Westwood Concern identified the complex as one of twelve problem properties that needed to be demolished in order to make Westwood more attractive for redevelopment. It was razed by the City as part of a neighborhood ceremony.
