CLRP land could be used for parking lot

A vacant City-owned lot in the Cincinnati Land Reutilization Program (CLRP) could end up becoming a surface parking lot.

An ordinance still to be considered by City Council would sell the land at 1551 St. Leger Place in Evanston to Downtown Property Management, Inc. (DTPMI) , who operates the adjacent apartment building.

DTPMI would then construct a surface parking lot for the use of the building's tenants.

The goal of the City's CLRP is to return abandoned property to use, ideally as tax-generating commercial or residential redevelopment.

A multi-departmental architectural review committee chooses projects for the program, and the properties are sold at a low cost to people who agree to develop them.

No dollar value has been assigned to the City-DTPMI transaction.

CLRP was established by city council in 1996 and is managed by the Department of City Planning.

The program has acquired approximately 68 parcels of land since its inception.
