New Pleasant Ridge survey: Groceries

On the heels of a recent survey about lunch options, the Pleasant Ridge Community Council now wants to know about your grocery buying habits.

The survey includes nine questions about neighborhood markets, food co-ops, produce and organics.

The survey is part of a concerted effort by the community to strengthen its existing businesses and to attract new tenants to the neighborhood business district.

The recent query about lunchtime eating habits produced 251 responses with the following results:

* 86 percent would be interested in more lunch options in Pleasant Ridge
* 86 percent would eat brunch on the weekend
* Saturday and Sunday are the most popular days for eating lunch in neighborhood restaurants, Tuesday the least popular
* 93 percent of lunches would be social, not business, in nature
* 58 percent would be unlikely to hold group meetings at lunch
