Forbes: The world's largest parking lots

Space in urban areas is limited and demand for parking is seemingly increasing, so is there nowhere to go but up?

In the April 10 edition of Forbes, Erica Westly profiles the 10 most massive parking structures in the world.

Not surprisingly, eight of them are in the United States and all are in North America, mostly located at international airports or at theme parks.

With a whopping 20,000 spaces, the clear winner is the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta - although a new leader in emerging in Dubai, where a 40,000-space garage is currently under construction.

More of these massive structures are being incorporated into mixed-use developments, helping to defray their $15,000-per-space cost by maximizing the number of daily users.
