Corbly townhomes get go-ahead
Cincinnati City Council unanimously approved a rezoning for 14 townhomes on Corbly Road in Mount Washington.
The developer, Tanner Custom Homes, estimated that sewer hookups at the site could support a total of 14 units.
They had originally planned only 12 units on the 1.76-acre site.
The zoning change from SF-6 to SF-4 Single-Family allows for the development to meet minimum lot size requirements*.
Refusal of the rezoning would have resulted in the planned 12 units being built.
No date for construction has been set.

EDC to consider rezoning for Mount Washington townhomes
Site plan: Click to enlarge
The City's Economic Development Committee (EDC) has scheduled a public hearing that could result in a townhome development being built in Mount Washington.
Tanner Custom Homes is seeking a zoning change that would allow for 14 attached townhome units to be constructed at 6612-6648 Corbly Road.
The current zoning, SF-6 Single-Family, would only allow a maximum of 12 townhomes on the site. A change to SF-4 Single-Family would allow them to add two extra units.
At their May 4 meeting, the City Planning Commission unanimously approved of the rezoning. Reasons cited for the approval included compatibility with the recent Mount Washington Comprehensive Plan, the support of the community council, and the need for more housing options in the neighborhood.
Some local residents have voiced concerns over increased traffic, the unstable hillsides, and the loss of green space and animal life.
The EDC meeting will be held on June 19.
A vote by City Council is likely either June 20 or June 27.

Mount Washington: 2312-2316 Beechmont Ave
Cole Realty Associates can now proceed with a multi-tenant retail center on the northeast corner of Beechmont Ave and Roxbury St.
On February 14, City Council voted unanimously to approve the extension of the Mount Washington Urban Design Boundary and to rezone, from Residential Multi-Family (RM-1.2) to Commercial Commmunity-Pedestrian (CC-P) the vacant residential properties at 2312-2316 Beechmont Ave.
This change fits with the recently drafted Comprehensive Plan for the neighborhood, which addressed the lack of modern commercial space in the business district and cited such for the business district's inability to attract new retailers.
Because it is in an Urban Design District, any commercial redevelopment of this property would be subject to public hearing in front of a hearing examiner from the Office of Administrative Hearings.
No specific plans for the site are available at this time. All that is known is that it will be as walkable as other parts of the business district.
