City OKs lease with 21c for outdoor dining space

An outdoor dining space for the 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati got the City's go-ahead on June 19.

City Council voted unanimously to approve a five-year lease, at an annual rate of $3,400, for 0.087 acres of Gano Street between Walnut Street and Ruth Lyons Lane.

The space will allow the hotel's Metropole restaurant to begin serving food outside this summer.

Pedestrian access through the street will be maintained. Removable bollards will protect the leased portion, and vehicular access will be limited to occurrences when no other means of access is feasible.

The Metropole restaurant opened in November 2012, and its rooftop cocktail terrace opened on May 14.
