Northside rebranding effort ramps up

An effort to update the branding of Northside is ramping up this week with two meetings scheduled.

Northside Brand Evolution is seeking artists, graphic designers, and others who are interested in developing a new logo and tag line that better reflects the neighborhood and its people.

Preliminary ideas will be discussed at the Northside Community Council meeting this evening at 7 P.M. at the new Chase School building, located at 4151 Turrill Street. Tomorrow evening at 7 P.M., a first draft meeting for interested parties will be held at Ellanet, Inc., located above the Northside Tavern at 4163 Hamilton Avenue.

"Our goal is to create a provocative, memorable visual and verbal identity for Northside that creates greater awareness and meaning for our community," says Jeff Hinkle of LPK, part of the project team. "Through our efforts we hope to engage the residents and businesses within Northside to rally behind a unified branding system that sets us apart from other communities."

Neighborhood stakeholders will have the opportunity to vote on the designs that are produced, and the new brand could be completed by the end of the year.
