'Old House, New Owner' to provide historic restoration strategies

People interested in restoring their old house to historic standards can get help developing an action plan at a Cincinnati Preservation Association event this Saturday.

Old House, New Owner, to be held from 9:30 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at the John Hauck House, 812 Dayton Street in the West End, will provide tips on developing a needs assessment, a construction timeline, bid specs, and a budget, as well as how to deal with contractors and permitting.

Paul Willham, restoration expert and historic preservation consultant, will present. Willham has more than 20 years of experience restoring historic properties, is the founder and president of the Knox Hill Neighborhood Association, and is currently restoring the historic Nagele-Merz House on Knox Street.

Admission for the program is $5, and registration is required. To register, call (513) 721-4506 or e-mail info@cincinnatipreservation.org.

Old House, New Owner is sponsored by the Comey & Shepherd Realtors City Office.
