Cincinnati master plan forum to examine local planning efforts

The first of three learning forums scheduled by Plan Cincinnati will take place Wednesday from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the CPS Education Center auditorium, 2651 Burnet Avenue in Corryville.

Several of the comprehensive master plan's working groups have requested more information on local and regional planning efforts and how they might relate to each of the master plan's 12 elements.

Wednesday's learning forum focuses on local plans such as GO Cincinnati, the Green Cincinnati Plan, and the United Way's State of the Community Report and Indicators.

A second learning forum, scheduled for August 18, will outline the workings of the City of Cincinnati budget. A third forum on August 26 will focus on regional plans like Agenda 360, Community COMPASS, and the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments' (OKI) 2030 Transportation Plan and Strategic Regional Policy Plan.

A second round of working group meetings will begin this September. Summaries of the working groups' meetings can be found on the Plan Cincinnati website.

Scheduled for a spring/summer 2011 vote by City Council, the completed document will be the City's first master plan since the Coordinated City Plan of 1980.
