Cause of death: An interior gutted by fire, deterioration to the roof and gutter system, missing siding, missing or broken windows, severe water damage, and vandalism. The building was vacant and being used by squatters at the time of the fire, which caused $40,000 in damages.
The house was condemned following the fire in December 2006, declared a public nuisance in September 2007, and razed by the City.
It doesn't appear that the City was able to find the owner to hold him accountable.
