Working group summaries for new comprehensive plan coming online

The team behind Cincinnati's new comprehensive master plan has begun to post summaries from the 12 working group meetings to the Plan Cincinnati website.

The working groups have been meeting since spring to refine the 12 plan elements, which will comprise the City's first master plan since the Coordinated City Plan of 1980.

Although no official working group meeting have been scheduled for this summer, the planning team says it will host a series of learning forums for working group members and other interested in the master plan. These forums will focus on local and regional plans such as GO Cincinnati, the Green Cincinnati Plan, the United Way's State of the Community Report and Indicators, Agenda 360, Community COMPASS, the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Government's (OKI) 2030 Transportation Plan, OKI's Strategic Regional Policy Plan, and the City of Cincinnati budget.

Meeting times and locations for the learning forums will be e-mailed and posted to the Plan Cincinnati website when they become available.

The planning team also has modified its project timeline, with working group wrap-up scheduled for November 2010. Draft action steps are planned for completion by January 2011, with final recommendations becoming available in March 2011.

Cincinnati City Council is expected to vote on adoption of the new comprehensive master plan by next summer.
