The Cincinnati City Planning Commission voted to recommend the Mount Adams Neighborhood Strategic Plan at its meeting last Friday.
The plan's steering committee now must seek approval of the 100-page document from Cincinnati City Council.
The date of that presentation has not been set.
The Mount Adams Civic Association launched the planning initiative in September 2007 to address the neighborhood's growing pains and to codify a common vision for the future, with the goal of informing policy direction for City officials.
Priorities identified in the draft plan include community life, development and preservation, views and hillsides, the business district, parking, cleanliness and safety, and infrastructure and utilities.
In addition to several community meetings and open houses, the plan's steering committee gathered public input through direct mail, flyers, e-mail, surveys, conversations, and the project website.
