Land sale could bring 25 homes to Northside

A piece of Northside land originally appropriated for the Colerain Connector could become 25 new single-family homes, if Cincinnati City Council approves of the sale.

Robley I, LLC emerged as the only bidder with the capacity to develop the 7.1-acre "Northwind" property along Kirby Avenue between Robley Avenue and Martha Street, also known as Sectors D and E of the Colerain Connector,

Fair market value is $100,000, but would be sold to Robley I, LLC for $1 because of the additional tax revenue that new market-rate housing would generate.

As part of the sale, Robley I, LLC will have up to one year to begin development of Northwind, with the option for an additional year with City approval.

The City Planning Commission recommended the sale on November 21.

In February 2007, council rezoned the property to SF-2 Single-Family Residential, allowing for minimum lot sizes of 2,000 square feet.

The Colerain Connector, planned nearly 40 years ago to link I-74 with Hamilton Avenue, was successfully stopped by a grassroots effort led by citizens of Northside, including the Coalition Against the Colerain Connector.
