Cincinnati City Council unanimously approved of an application for grant funds to study environmentally sensitive redevelopment of historic properties in Over-the-Rhine.
The application will allow for the City to apply for $29,072 in National Park Service Certified Local Subgrant funds, to be administered by the Over-the-Rhine Foundation.
The study will take a look at the barriers to the redevelopment of historic properties presented by current tax credit programs and U.S. Green Building Council mandates.
Possible solutions will be published a written report, including a checklist that can be used as a template by developers, contractors and property owners.
The total cost of the project is $65,759 and it should be completed between May and July of 2009.
