The City is looking to transfer a total of $36,200 from two budget accounts to help new Department of Planning Director Charles C. Graves III begin his new job.
The money would come from accounts for the Office of the City Manager and the Office of Budget and Evaluation.
Graves' starting salary is $125,000 per year.
Graves began his term in the newly-created department on September 4. The Department of Planning had been disbanded in 2002 due to budget cuts.
An ordinance authorizing the transfer of funds is currently in the Finance Committee.
