State grants could improve safety on three Cincinnati corridors

Grants totaling $60,000 could help the City of Cincinnati's Department of Transportation and Engineering study impediments to traffic flow and safety at three "hot spot" accident locations.

An ordinance currently before council would allow the City to accept and appropriate the grants, administered through the Ohio Department of Public Safety, to take a look at Reading Road between Clinton Springs Avenue and Paddock Road, Reading Road between Avon Drive and the Norwood Lateral, and Glenway Avenue between Cleves Warsaw Pike and Ferguson Road.

Data from the studies would be used to design short- and long-term improvements along all three corridors.

No matching funds would be required from the City.
