Capital, CDBG accounts approved for Peebles Corner

Cincinnati City Council has approved unanimously an ordinance creating two new accounts for improvements in and around Peebles Corner in Walnut Hills.

A new capital project account will be created with $1.5 million from two existing funds and will be used to remove blighted buildings, rehabilitate several buildings along E McMillan Street, and improve public infrastructure.

Additionally, a new Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project account will be created with more than $140,000 from two existing CDBG accounts and will be used to acquire and demolish dilapidated buildings along E McMillan Street – between Kemper Lane and Concord Street – as well as on the streets southwest of the E McMillan Street/Gilbert Avenue intersection.
