Covington Quest offers prizes and fun, helps build communities

Covington's own version of "The Amazing Race" takes place at 10 a.m. this Saturday, June 20, at Covington Landing.

Part scavenger hunt and part foot race, up to 50 teams of four will find clues, solve riddles, and participate in challenges along a four-mile course throughout the city.

The first place team will win $3,000, and the second place team will take home $1,000. Other prizes also will be awarded.

All participants will receive a T-shirt and goody bag and will be treated to a free after-party at The Avenue Lounge, 411 Madison Avenue.

Teams of four can be registered for $200 and are asked to check in starting at 9 a.m.

To enter a team or to volunteer, visit covingtonquest.com or call Jane Anderson at (859) 547-5542.

All proceeds go to the Center for Great Neighborhoods, a Covington non-profit that seeks to boost community engagement and to equip residents with the tools and resources they need to create safe and livable neighborhoods.

Last year, 30 teams participated in the inaugural Quest.
