The Cincinnati Public Schools board approved the schematic design for the renovation and expansion of Lower Price Hill's Oyler School at its meeting April 13.
Roth Partnership Inc. presented drawings showing the addition of a new gymnasium to the back of the 1930 building and the relocation of the main office closer to the front entrance.
The current gymnasium will be converted into music and art rooms, and the entire building will receive upgraded mechanicals.
The renovated school will operate as a K-12 community learning center.
Also at the meeting, the board voted to go ahead with a $21 million of Rothenberg Preparatory Academy in Over-the-Rhine, the purchase of vacant property along Main Street, and the demolition of 142 E McMicken Avenue; and awarded $11.8 million in general trades contracts for the renovations of College Hill Fundamental Academy and Hartwell School.
