Hyde Park teardown replacement hits the market

The replacement of a torn down Civil War-era house has hit the market, listed by the Painter Development Group at $699,000.

The two-story, four bedroom, three-and-a-half bath house at 2919 Observatory Avenue will feature an indoor/outdoor fireplace, two-car detached garage, media room, and a 15-year tax abatement.

The developer is seeking LEED certification.

Black Diamond Construction is the builder.

Painter Development Group purchased the house for $160,000 in October 2008, and it was torn down in November 2008.

The property was once proposed for an expanded parking lot for Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church, but community pressure led to the church putting it up for sale.
