Downtown Tour of Living 2008, Part I

Part I of a three-part series on September 27th's 2008 Downtown Tour of Living includes two properties located in the Central Business District.

My self-guided tour started at the Lofts at Fountain Square, 18 condominium units being developed by Thesing Real Estate Services at 417 Vine Street.

While the units will have upscale finishes and have the exposed brick and loft feel, it seemed that many of them lacked adequate natural lighting and views.

However, the location cannot be beat.

A short four blocks away was McFarland Lofts, a 7-unit condominium project at 304 McFarland Street being developed by Conrad Oppt and Jack Glaser and marketed by Peter Chabris and Mary Lyon.

Only one model unit has been completed, with other units in the framing phase.

The units could really be a great option for the emerging W Fourth district, but I really need to see more before I can make a call either way.
