CVG Terminal 3 security addition moving along

A $25 million security addition is well underway at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Being built along the south side of Terminal 3, between the building and the airfield, the new addition will allow up to 20 stations at its security checkpoint and will be located on the same level as ticketing.

There are currently only 9 security stations.

The addition will be completed in 2009.

The project is part of the airport's Master Plan, which calls for consolidating all airlines from three terminals into one and saving federal agencies money by concentrating all of their security screening into one location.

Only two terminals remain active - Terminal 1 closed in 2007 and now houses administrative offices.
