After more than one year and multiple plan reviews, permits have finally been issued for two new single-family homes on Elsinore Avenue in Mount Adams.
Mardis & Meehan Construction of Covington plan to build the houses on a double lot at 1238 Elsinore Avenue (BIRD'S EYE).
Though little is known about the development so far, permits call for two three-story buildings of Type VB, or wood frame, construction with rooftop decks.
One of the units, 3,895 square feet with an elevator, hot tub, and bar, hit the market last week for $849,500.
The homes will include custom finishes.
A prior house on the development site, built in 1880, was demolished in March 2007.
The new houses will be located next to three upscale townhomes completed by Metropolitan Design and Development in 2006-2007.
