Schematic designs for Clark Montessori on display Tuesday

Architects from glaserworks will show off the schematic design for the new Clark Montessori School to the board of the Hyde Park Neighborhood Council (HPNC) tomorrow evening at 7 PM.

The schematic design includes such details as the site plan and the building's massing, scale and height.

Cincinnati Public Schools will be demolishing the existing school this fall and replacing it with a new community learning center and school for grades 7-12 that has a smaller footprint and a larger setback from Erie Avenue (BIRD'S EYE).

The new building will have all-new mechanicals and a green roof, making it cheaper to operate than the existing school.

It will also be ADA-compliant.

The HPNC likely will take a position on the design, which will be taken into consideration by the CPS board.

If approved, the project will proceed to the design development phase.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the Knox Presbyterian Church, Michigan and Observatory avenues.
