City, CRC to receive $2.1M for Armleder projects

The City of Cincinnati will receive $2.1 million in trust funds to be applied to its five Otto Armleder memorial projects.

The funds, which come from the Bessie Steele Trust, will be kept in a treasury investment account and will be used by the Cincinnati Recreation Commission to maintain projects such as the Otto Armleder Memorial Park and Recreation Complex in Linwood and aquatic centers at Hanna Park in Over-the-Rhine, Dunham Recreation Center in Price Hill and Hirsch Recreation Center in Avondale.

Steele was the daughter of Armleder and had set aside a portion of her estate to be used as an endowment for her father's projects.

Steele left no remaining heirs.
